Rob: Someone posted the links to these rather interesting NKVD and MVD znamye that are for sale. Rather good aren't they? M1942 NKVD Special Forces “OMSBON” flag - SOLD What makes this flag ultra rare is the unit its for: the 131st NKVD ‘OMSBON’ Regt. These were behind the lines special forces, Spentsnaz, troops. They did commando operations and hunted down important targets. They were very small in number, and thus any flag for them is of the utmost rarity. Flag is an absolutely unique design. Тов.Грибко: 2Rob If we are translate it: Both of znamye's is FAKE! Full shit! 131 OMSBON - it's great joke of all peoples of world! :-)))) The 131 OSMBOD squad not was in real! It's sci-fi! :)) In composition of separate motorifle brigade of special purpose (OMSBON) NKVD USSR, formed in 1941 (on 1943 - Separate squad of special purpose NKGB USSR) and executed special functions (forming special forces, special residents, reconnaissance-sabotagers groups, for action in deep rear of Enemy, was ONLY 2 Divisions!, but there wasn't border regiment, and CAN'T TO BE! And i see, that the color - is not so good. It's not the material for hornest znamya.
Rob: I though the colour of the 'OMSBON' znamya looked odd - too pink! And when I looked again and saw the пограничный........ Eeek! And the really frightening thing is had I the money, I would have bought it! I think this is a lesson I've had for free. Never, ever buy expensive militaria without checking first!
